From the Manufacturer The Kichler 360002NI Brushed Nickel 24-Inch Extension Downrod adds the extra length needed if higher ceilings are an issue. Other lengths may be purchased if another length is desired as well. Lengths available are 18-Inch (360001NI), 36-Inch (360003NI), 48-Inch (360004NI), 60-Inch (360005NI), and 72-Inch (360006NI). The ceiling height recommended for a 24-Inch downrod is about 11-feet, but it depends on your need, and the look or feel you are installing the ceiling fan for. In any installation, the tips of the blades must be at least 18-Inch from the wall in order to provide sufficient clearance for the blades; and for safety reasons, the fan blades must be a minimum of 7-feet above the floor.
